Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home Program Approved – Requirements and Benefits

Sabah Government Unveils Policies for the SBH-MM2H Program Aimed at High-End Participants.

The Sabah state government has given the green light to the policies for the Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home (SBH-MM2H) program. Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister, Datuk Christina Liew, announced this after a recent cabinet meeting.

The approved policies outline the requirements for participating in the program, including age, medical certification, and a fixed deposit account in Sabah. The program mandates a minimum stay of 30 days a year, with a duration of 5+5 years for individuals or families. Participants are also eligible to purchase property with a minimum value of RM600,000 and above.

In addition, the program requires a certification of good conduct from the applicant’s country of origin, a medical check-up certificate, and opening a bank account in Sabah with a fixed deposit of RM200,000. The user-friendly program is aimed at high-end participants and is expected to have a significant impact on the state’s economy, particularly in real property development and tourism.

Minister Liew is optimistic about the program’s potential to attract participants who meet the qualifying criteria. She believes it will have a positive effect on the state’s economy and create new opportunities for growth.
