West Midlands Police have now said that “no criminal offenses” took place at Molineux. They have also confirmed that they have spoken with the club and are satisfied that no criminal offences occurred.

The prank was later revealed to have been orchestrated by YouTuber Daniel Jarvis, also known as ‘Jarvo’. He is known for crashing major sporting events and has been convicted of aggravated trespass in the past. He was given a suspended sentence last October and banned from attending any sporting events in England and Wales for two years.

Lineker tweeted a picture of the phone used in the prank and joked that it was “quite amusing” sabotage. The incident created a buzz on social media, with many users sharing their reactions.
