iPhone 15 trial production commences in China

Apple has started trial production of the iPhone 15 in China, according to sources. This process, called New Product Introduction (NPI), typically happens in the first quarter of each year. It allows Apple to resolve issues and fine-tune the production process with manufacturers and suppliers before the new iPhones are finalized. Foxconn, a major supplier for Apple, has reportedly started trial production of the iPhone 15.

Apple is also looking to reduce the gap between Chinese and Indian production timelines. Currently, Apple begins actual production in China six to nine months before it does in India. However, the company is working to establish relationships with Indian partners and shrink the gap between the two countries’ production by a few weeks. Apple’s goal is to shift 5% of total production to Indian factories.
