AirAsia Suspends Kuching to Penang Flights effective March 1

AirAsia Offers Alternative Options for Passengers Affected by Kuching-Penang Flight Suspension.

AirAsia has announced that its direct flights between Kuching and Penang will be suspended from March 1, due to operational reasons. The affected guests have been notified by email and have been moved to the best available “FlyThru” options between the two destinations, with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur (KLIA2) to avoid any disruption to their travel plans.

Affected passengers have three options: a free change of flight according to the new route through Kuala Lumpur, a ticket conversion to credit in their AirAsia account, or a refund. The airline has also made available three service recovery options for the affected guests. They can change their flight for free based on the new route through Kuala Lumpur, convert their tickets into credit in their AirAsia account, or get a refund.

AirAsia currently offers nine daily flights between Kuching and Kuala Lumpur and seven between Kuala Lumpur and Penang for affected passengers to choose from. Tickets that are converted into credits are valid for 730 days (equivalent to two years) from the date of issuance and can be used to purchase future flights and add-ons with AirAsia.

Passengers who opt for a refund can chat with AVA via the AirAsia Super App or website and follow the prompts accordingly. Those who booked their flights through a third-party agent may contact their respective travel agents for further assistance. AirAsia recommends that all guests download the AirAsia Super App for a seamless travel experience.
